Serendipity's House Rules

...because without rules there is chaos!

The house rules for Serendipity

  • Please wear shoes if you walk around outside the property. There are small cacti that grow in the sandy soil of the Outer Banks, and you are very likely to step on one. (Ask me how I know!).
  • Please do not access the roof from the rooftop deck under any circumstances. Also, if you have any children, please ensure they are supervised at all times on the rooftop deck as they may try to climb the railings to get on to the roof.
  • Please do not access the loft if you are uncomfortable climbing a ladder. The ladder is the only way up or down, so if it makes you nervous, or you think you may be unable to do it, please don't attempt it. We promise there's no treasure up there...we keep it minimalistic! :-) Please shut the loft swing door while you're up there for safety.
  • Please do not smoke in the house or on the sunporch. If you smoke outside, please dispose of the butts properly.
  • Please do not throw any trash on the ground outside. If you feel like there is an area where we need a trash can for your convenience, please do let us know!
  • If you use the gas grill, please never leave it unattended. On each occasion that you use it, please make sure that you turn it off when you're through. And of course, if you don't know how to use it...please don't use it. There are plenty of great restaurants in the area!
  • Please don't have house parties here. If you have family or friends who may stop by to visit, that's wonderful! We hope they enjoy Serendipity as well. But no house parties - no keggers, no raves, and nothing that even comes close to being a house party.
